>> ARTIST OF THE YEAR NOMINEES << AT HOME Danny Gokey and his wife, Leyicet, celebrated six years of marriage this past year and welcomed their third child. Gabriel Daniel Gokey, the couple’s second son, was born in August. Gabriel joins big brother Danny and big sister Victoria. AT THE GRAMMYS The “American Idol” alum earned his ¯rst GRAMMY® nomination when Rise was nominated for “Best Contemporary Christian Music Album.” He and Leyicet attended the awards ceremony at New York City’s Madison Square Garden in February. ON THE ROAD After logging some time opening for Casting Crowns early in 2017, Danny spent the fall co-headlining a tour with Mandisa and special guests Jasmine Murray and Love & The Outcome. Next, he celebrated the holiday season with a Christmas tour alongside Natalie Grant, the pair’s second seasonal outing together. Danny joined Mandisa again this spring for TobyMac’s multi-artist “Hits Deep Tour.” He’ll welcome summer with a slew of festival appearances. IN THE OFFICE After releasing his ¯rst two studio albums on BMG, earlier this year, Danny signed a new record deal with Capitol Christian Music Group, the label home of TobyMac, Chris Tomlin, Mandisa, Matthew West and Kari Jobe, among others.
